The tying of this nymph includes a few intermediate techniques, but is generally a simple and straightforward process.     I found the hook to be super sharp and strong. The fact that I didn't have to remove the barb was a plus for me. I will be buying all my hooks from Allen now, based on the quality of the J100BL.

    After recently reading about some of the European nymphing methods that use flies tied on jig hooks, I had to get some. However, I was a bit shocked at the high cost of many of the jig hooks offered. When I saw the new jig hooks offered on the Allen website, I bought a pack in every size offered. These hooks are excellent! The hooks are very well made, and very sharp. The price is a real bargain. I was actually pleased to see the new barbless hook offerings from Allen, I hope that they are offered in more sizes soon!
