    I searched quite a few hooks until I found this one to create a Mop Fly variation for shad fishing. I has a straight eye, heavy wire, and short length I found appealing. I ordered it in sizes #4 - #10. I figure it might work on smallmouth bass as well.

    The E601 hook is just perfect for a Mop Fly variation I am tying. It is stout, has a straight eye, and is available in the sizes I need. I intend to order more when I start tying egg patterns.

    I love Allen hooks. They are sharp, strong, and hold the point well. I just wish that more of the product line was barbless.

    I can't say enough about the Products.... Allen always makes a great one. I looked at the hooks but have yet to tie anything on these. I have purchased hooks from them in the past... Great as always so I can't wait to get these in the vise.

    Incredibly Strong

    These hooks are very strong. I have used them the size 8 to land a 24 lb grass carp, and a 28 lb bigmouth buffalo with no issues. I use them for quite a few of my carp/cyprinid fly patterns, and have never had one bend out. Highly recommended.

    These are super strong which is important for egg hooks. I've tied many great egg patterns on mine now. Top notch quality at half the price!

    I've used these hooks and caught fish up to 25 lbs without a single failure. I'm buying all my hooks from Allen. There's not a better deal out there.
