If you were to ask anyone here at Allen Fly Fishing our favorite pair of shorts in our wardrobe, the unanimous answer would be the Walkabout Shorts. Perfectly suited on the poling platform, casting deck, beach chair, hiking trail, trout stream, first dates... Well, you get the idea. Our conceptualization stages called for a pair of shorts we would wear anywhere, and the Walkabout was born.

Excellent shorts for fishing yet smart enough for evening wear, light, fast drying comfortable and all this at an amazing price. I bought a second pair as soon as i tried the first pair.
I got these a couple of weeks ago and have hardly worn anything else. Very comfortable, Dry fast and sturdy.
I have worn them in the mountains, on the ocean and on my kayak on the lake, and never had to worry about them, no signs of wear pulls or frays.
They're a great fit on the sizing as well.
On sale they are huge value.
I have nothing bad to say about them.

I got these for the sale price of $14.98 and you just can't find shorts like these for that price. Good fit, light weight, fast drying and just a nice looking pair of shorts, I purchased a pair a few years back and see no issues with wear durability, so I recently purchased two more. I have seen this type short advertised on some of the big brand outdoor clothiers for up to $70 and more! If you like to wet wade I would say these are a must!
I absolutely love these shorts!! I wear them to work, fishing or a night out. Comfy, stylish, lightweight, and fast drying, they offer everything I'm looking for in shorts.
I'm a college kid working my summers as the mate on a charter boat out of Ocean City, MD. I've been working the job since I was 14 (started with my dad), so it's been quite a few years now. I've always worn the classic Aftco shorts, but the moment I tried these on I knew they were my new go to. The material is lightweight and stretchy, kind of like a good boardshort. This material dries fast and keeps you cool. I've worn them hiking and wading in Pennsylvania, and they were awesome at that, too. Perfect length for me - just above the knee. Time will tell how they hold up - I've only had them a few months - but they seem to be very well made.
My only two suggestions would be that the mesh pockets might be made of a tougher material, and possibly a lined pliers sheath built in. But those aren't deal-breakers for me in light of how amazing these shorts are . otherwise. I'm sure I'll be recommending them a lot as the season continues.
I really like these shorts. They are comfortable and stylish enough to wear on the lake or to a brunch with some friends.
The only thing that I would change is the pockets. They are 100% netting which can be troublesome for ordinary wear. Key rings and such can get stuck on the netting. I'd prefer to have the pockets 50/50 or 60/40 material to netting. That way, if you get wet the pockets still drain, but are more practical for carrying everyday items.
Overall great shirts and I'd definitely buy them again. The company also has great customer service...fast and responsive.
