    1. Awesome Jacket Rating

Been wearing this jacket for a few months now and love it. Quality is outstanding and would easily choose Exterus over competitors with similar offerings. Also very easy to pack. Great job guys!

    2. Exact same insulation, Primaloft Gold, as a Patagonia Puff Rating

Posted by Unknown on 16th Mar 2017

This light weight jacket/ windbreaker has the exact same insulation, Primaloft Gold, as a Patagonia Puff. Nice and light, not too bulky. Great for layering. Plenty of pockets. Really holds up to strong wind...none gets inside. I would get this jacket again.

    3. Like the Jacket Rating

Posted by Tomas Tyler on 22nd Dec 2016

I like this jacket and it seems pretty warm. I wore it on a pretty cold day here in Texas with just a T-Shirt under and it was fine. I do wish the sleeves were longer though. I'm 6'3 and ordered a XXL. The torso is a good length.

    4. Excellent Jacket Rating

Posted by Jon Harris on 6th Dec 2016

Jacket is everything I hoped it would be. Very lightweight, well made, good pockets. It's very warm with just a base layer underneath and this week I used it with a breathable wading jacket on top and I was plenty warm enough in the stream. I can see me using this for hiking in the spring as well as a warm layer for fishing.

    5. really like this jacket Rating

Posted by NH on 7th Nov 2016

Warm, water resistant, looks good Fits in my simms freestone sling pack easily. Cuff area dries surprisingly quick after dunking. Large fits me well (6'2" 205 lbs).

Only things i would change would be to offer a tall size. Its a good lenth for fitting under waders but wearing it out and about it might be a little short for taller people. Second thing would be changing the cuffs from the thin stretchy material to a longer dwr treated stretchy cuff.

All in all if i could currently afford a second one id buy it and will if the one i have eventually gets too beat up.

    6. Good Performance, short sleeves Rating

Posted by charles smith on 7th Nov 2016

I got this jacket through a sales promotion where I paid less to get more in store credit. The jacket was FREE! Because it was free, I didn't expect much, but it seems to be of good quality. It's lightweight and warm, I intend to use it as a night time fishing jacket, under a shell, or as a spring time jacket. The only thing I don't like about it is the that the sleeves could stand to be a inch or two longer, and the cuffs are pretty tight (I'm a big guy, 6'1, 270 I got a XXL). All together, a pretty great deal, this jacket and a kracken xla for $270!

    7. Surprisingly warm & wind-resistant for the weight Rating

Posted by Olaf D. on 27th Mar 2016

Warmth: Warmer than expected given the light weight of this jacket. Great for walking the dog on a breezy winter Calif. evening, with just a t-shirt underneath. Also great to throw on after drying off after a surf casting session. Remarkably wind-resistant. Stood in a 18-20 mph steady breeze, and only really felt the wind creeping in at the zipper.
Fit: I'm 6'4" and it fits me pretty well. I could use an extra 1/2" length in the arms, though.
Quality: The lack of a fifth star stems from this. Nothing major. The collar is a hair flimsy and doesn't seem to have any insulation/loft to it, and the fold of material at the top of the zipper (presumably to protect your chin/neck from the zipper) doesn't lie flat as it should.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this jacket. Haven't used it as a layer under a rain shell, but I imagine that combo would be super toasty.

    8. FIANCE STOLED MY JACKET Rating

Posted by MEL HONG on 8th Mar 2016

This is my favorite jacket of the primaloft material jackets, I have a few Simms and Kast jackets and Allen jacket is the best of them all. Allens has the primaloft gold which is the best material available and is 20 grams more materials for the same price as the competition. You don't feel the different between the competition jackets and Allens until it gets colder and colder then the additional 20 grams makes a big big different. Trust me, I tested all my jacket and I guess that's why my fiance took my BEST jacket to use for herself, Oh well, I'll have to buy another Allen's jacket. My fiance is pretty fussy about fashion, and she took my Allen's jacket over the other competitor's jacket. I don;t know why I keep saying its my jacket, because I no longer have it to use anymore. But a great jacket, good looking and very comfortable. I too have the old style Allen's jacket I brought a year ago and it appears this new models with same material has to be great too. I am going to buy myself another Allen's jacket. Thanks Justin for a great jacket

I've had this jacket a couple months now and I really like it! Very functional, plenty of pockets, and pretty warm for a thinner jacket. Would definitely buy again!

    10. Great jacket, regulates heat well Rating

Posted by Jeff on 23rd Oct 2015

I've had this jacket since last fall (mine was originally released under the Allen brand before Exterus launched) and have been wearing it ever since. The best thing I can say about this jacket is it regulates heat very well. On a float trip this past week, it was just above freezing when we got on the water. With just this jacket and a t-shirt under it, I was plenty warm. I kept the jacket on as the temps climbed toward lunch time. Only after it got near 60 did I take it off. It packs up nice and small to go into your bag and get out of the way so you can keep fishing. Then, as the sun started to hide itself behind the mountains and the temp on the river dramatically dropped, I put it back on and never missed a beat. I love this jacket.
