    RK's UV Chironomid (09:36)
RK's UV Chironomid makes you think outside of the box when tying a midge pattern. This pattern closely resembles Rick Takahashi's Mini Bow Tie Buzzer, but in a larger chironomid version for lake fishing. I am using an AFF N304 hook (straight-eye, 2x-short, 3x-wide scud/emerger hook. Check them out at www.allenflyfishing.com. The best thing about this fly is how it looks under water. The UV Clear Fly Finish coating provides the fly with a brilliant shine and depth to the fly. While the Mirage Opal Tinsel gives off a large array of colors. The overall profile and depth that this fly has truly makes this a fun fly to fish and tie. To view RK's Fly Design complete fly collectionVisit www.facebook.com/RKsFlyDesign

Great hook....love the barbless! Please carry hooks in the smaller sizes. Many of us fish 18 20 22s

    3. Great hook

Love this hook. Very strong and sturdy. One gripe I have is a lack of smaller sizes. I have been tying midges and other small pupa with the #16, but really need some smaller ones (18-22) as well. Please update with some smaller sizes, Allen.

Sharp point, tough hooks under normal fishing practice! I'll be back to buy more & tell fishing buddys.

    6. best hooks I have ever tied or fished with

Posted by Eric on 10th Jan 2014

I was always skeptical of barbless hooks, annoyed at the decreased catch rate when fishing. Then I read an article about how hooks designed barbless are actually have a better hook up and landing rate because of the gradual point and where the hook holds the fish. So I tried a couple packs of allen hooks. Wow! That trip I landed every single trout I hooked. NEver had that happen to me before. And as soon as it is boated, the hook falls out of the fish's mouth and does not get stuck in the net because of the barb or mashed barb. I instantly ordered at least one pack of just about every barbless hook they make. I will be using only their barbless hooks from now on - the only way I would consider getting another hook is if allen does not have the size/style I want. My only request - more sizes please! But knowing allen, that is already in the works. NEver been disappointed with a single Allen product I have tried.

    7. A great scud hook and barbless is a selling point.

The N203BL is rated by me a 4 out of 5 only because I haven't tied on them or fished them yet, they seem great. I wish the barbless went smaller.

    9. Barbless Hooks

Completely happy with these hooks. Very sharp. Just as good if not better than others on the market.

    10. recommended

This is my go to hook for salmon and steelhead nymphs. The fish
are equipment busters and these hooks pass the test. They
are solid, sharp, and the barbless ones penetrate cleanly in
      salmon jaws.
