"When asked to help redesign the Alpha reel to better stand up to the demands of big game fishing, I knew I had a project on my hands that was right up my alley.  After multiple test runs on dorado, skipjack, amber jack, and other blue water species in Mexico, as well as Albacore tuna, steelhead, and salmon in the Pacific Northwest, I'd say the early days of the Alpha II have proven very, very impressive.   I can say with all honesty that we accomplished the goal I set out for us:  Make a big game reel that we were more confident in than anything within double its price range.  As someone with impossibly high standards for my fishing equipment's performance; this is a bold statement coming from me.  I think that anyone who tries one will agree with me."  -  Evan Burck - On staff pro *******************************************
