It is difficult to find the proper design of the classic upturned eye hook. I have been using the SS001 hook for years, and they are excellent quality, and the perfect design. Please do not stop carrying these.

An average hook that needs a tapered return wire vs the same diameter as the shank. The return wire also needs to be deburred to prevent cutting the tying thread. I'll continue to tie on them until my supply runs out.

I have used this hook to tie a variety of "Classic Salmon" flies and have not been disappointed.
We are planning to spend all summer of 2017 in Alaska chasing the salmon runs. I bought these hooks so I could start tying some flies in preparation for the trip. They appear to be everything I hoped. I will do a follow up review after I've actually had the opportunity to use them.
Great hooks. Super strong, super sharp, and heavy enough to get down quickly. Lost a few fish to tippets, but none to the hook. Can't wait to use up my order so I can get more.
