These Allen mono tapered leaders have been working well for me this season. I've used 4x, 5x, and 1x leaders for different applications. They are good general purpose tapers and the price is outstanding. I've used many others costing more and they do no more than these except eat from your wallet. Perhaps Allen will offer them in fluorocarbon at some future point. As a final testament to their performance, I stocked up on them in multiple sizes...

Used one of these yesterday (6x, 9ft) in the Driftless of WI and it performed well. The water had some murk to it so this material was a better choice than floro. The testament to it's performance is that the remaining leader is still on the reel and will be used next time. The reel is an older Allen Alpha. The leader price is a bargain as well. I've been very pleased with every Allen product that I've used: Blanks, reels, lines, leaders, hooks, tung beads and even flies. Great job folks!
