Product Description
The Trout II series has taken the best features of our ever popular original Trout Series, and improved on them in every way. The Trout II is fully machined from premium, aerospace quality barstock aluminum, and finished with corrosion and scratch resistant anodization. The dependable disc drag system has been enclosed to be protected from damaging sediment and debris. It remains everything a trout and other light tackle fish angler could ever want, and more!
The Trout series features a unique, attractive spool and frame design with true large arbor dimensions. The large arbor assists in quicker line retrieve, and low line memory. Its ergonimically formed spool handle, easy left to right hand retrieve change, and simple drag adjustment rounds out its balance of function, fashion, and dependability!
Sizes offered are our 1 and 2, which cover a surprisingly wide range of line sizes and applications. Whether you're equipping your small stream, ultra-sensitive 3wt Icon, or your 5wt Olympic series rod, the Trout series will pair up perfectly! Includes protective neoprene pouch.
We will load your reel with backing and line for free! When you select backing and a line on the menus above, you will be charged a discounted price for both backing and line with no charge for putting it on the reel! Be sure to pick which direction you need the retrieve so that we load it up correctly for you!

Best deal out there period!

I recently purchased a complete setup from Allen for my girlfriend, and have been looking at this reel for quite some time. The reel is machined flawlessly, the drag is as smooth as can be. This reel is beautiful. I am now ordering one for myself, and tossing my old reel to the side. (I paid the same amount for the other reel, and it dosen't even compare)
Also customer service is better than any company I have ever dealt with in person or online.

Light, strong and great looking. I especially like the ease at which you can manipulate the drag system. Very smooth, better than my buddy's Ross and almost a sweet as my Bauer. For the money..Best reel I've ever picked up. Also love my Alpha II. Awesome on steelies and sockeye. Several 30 fish days and the drag handled it easily.

The "Trout II" is the 3rd reel I have purchased from Allen and I have never been disappointed, every good as some other reels that cost twice as much.

I bought the reel for my girl friend.....I already have one for myself. I love the drag system. It is easy to set and it holds, which is very nice for her....no accidental changes. I am very please with all the Allens products.

A couple buddies and I went up to Casper in February of this year. I rigged up a ross reel on my wife's 5 weight, a lamson reel on my 5 weight and the allen trout II on my 6 weight. Fished them all. It was a whopping 8 degrees out with a foot of fresh now on the ground. The Allen reel was the only one that still worked well after getting iced up. Very impressed!

Tough and Smooth

As a saltwater fly fisher I know the importance of a smooth drag. I also fish the Delaware River in the spring for American shad, large roes can reach 10lbs though an 8lb fish are often caught. Smaller bucks have tarpon blood in them as they jump several times during the fight though smaller they do give a good account of themselves. My Trout II reel handles these fish with ease, a great little reel.

I own several Allen reels and each new model I receive just keeps getting better and better! I work in the aerospace machining industry and see lots of great machining.....and I can honestly say these reels are on par with lots of machines flight hardware I inspect !!Awesome job guys and keep 'em coming.

I'm on my third Allen reel now. I started off with the Trout reel (original one), got an ATS for my girlfriend and just got a Trout II for my 4-weight rod.
Above all, the customer service and speedy shipping is awesome. The reels themselves are excellent. The drag is smooth and has a wide range. Throwing in the cool colors is great too. I've become a huge fan of these and I'm sure I'll be adding more reels to the excessive amount of rods my girlfriend and I own.
I'll be recommending these reels to everyone that asks about them (which people continue to do).
