The Trout II series has taken the best features of our ever popular original Trout Series, and improved on them in every way. The Trout II is fully machined from premium, aerospace quality barstock aluminum, and finished with corrosion and scratch resistant anodization. The dependable, proprietary, bearing-less disc drag system (patent pending) has been enclosed to be protected from damaging sediment and debris. It remains everything a trout and other light tackle fish angler could ever want, and more!
The Trout series features a unique, attractive spool and frame design with true large arbor dimensions. The large arbor assists in quicker line retrieve, and low line memory. Its ergonimically formed spool handle, easy left to right hand retrieve change, and simple drag adjustment rounds out its balance of function, fashion, and dependability!
Sizes offered are our 1 and 2, which cover a surprisingly wide range of line sizes and applications. Whether you're equipping your small stream, ultra-sensitive 3wt Icon, or your 5wt Volant streamer setup, the Trout series will pair up perfectly! Includes protective neoprene pouch.
We will load your reel with backing and line for free! When you select backing and a line on the menus above, you will be charged a discounted price for both backing and line with no charge for putting it on the reel! Be sure to pick which direction you need the retrieve so that we load it up correctly for you!

Simply put, after fishing with Sage, TFO, & other high end reels, then fishing Allen Fly reels, I will never waist my money ever again! I'm currently in the process of changing all my gear to Allen!

I recently purchased and received a Pink Trout II for a custom rod that I built for a lady friend. The real was a perfect match for the Casting for the Cure rod which is a black Rainshadow blank, Pink Wraps and pink feather inlays and to top it off the reel was loaded with Pink Rio Dry Line.... Now comes the practice and the fishing with this new combination for a beginner fly caster.... The quality of the reel is what I have become to expect of Allen reels.

Great reels for the $$$$$
A bit heavy, But that is what I expected from a larger arbor reel in smaller size.

Put the reel on a 6 wt Sage Respnse; it looks good and performed well; tested the drag on a nice trout; may not be as smooth as my Lamson but still did well

I live in Alabama and am flying to Denver in three days to fish the Arkansas during the caddis hatch (April 2015).
This is maybe a once in a lifetime trip for me. My favorite rod is my Xa 6wt. It has made me a better fly fisher.
I decided I need a matching reel, but was afraid it wouldn’t get here in time for the trip.
I called Allen (talked to the owner) and explained my worries . . . received my orange Trout II 5wt-6wt the next day!
This reel is VERY sexy with the Allen rod!
It is so well made that I’m sure it’s gonna be fabulous!

I own two of these reels, one in each size. I keep the smaller one on my 5wt for freshwater use. The larger one is usually found on my 6wt and used on speckled trout, spanish mackerel, bluefish, etc...but it has handled several redfish with no problem. I've had these reels a few years now and they have showed no signs of stopping. Cool looking design, great anodization, lightweight, and very good drags.

I haven't even put it on a rod yet. I had a custom rod made, should be done next week. It's 13'6'' 3 wt. But the Trout 11 Feels smooth, the drag, such a wide range of drag! It is just smooth as other at 1/3 the money!! I'll write an up date when I put to gather & fish with it. The craftsmanship is superb! I should know I owned a small machine shop! I'm quite pleased with it as far as just by it's looks & feel! Thanks for being the quality of company that you are!!!
