The Atlas series brings a lot to the table for a surprising price. Using the tried-and-true drag technology from our Omega and XLA series, the Atlas combines smooth, tippet-protecting start-up with raw power in a sealed housing. It also is the first reel from Allen Fly Fishing to bring that technology to a reel perfectly sized for a modern 9' five-weight. The large, U-shaped arbor limits line memory and, paired with the large, flared cranking handle, allows for rapid line pick-up. Aerospace-grade aluminum provides for a lightweight reel, protected with a durable, attractive anodized finish. On top of that, the Atlas series is further protected by our lifetime warranty and excellent customer service. Whether your next trip is taking you around the world or simply to your local water, rest assured that you've got a premium reel for an unbeatable price with the Atlas from Allen Fly Fishing!

    first class reels highly recommended

I have 4 Allen Saltwater reels and they are excellent. Allen Atlas specs are just right and these reels are light and strongly built and lighter than othe top line reels and have an excellent drag system. I will buy other Allen reels when I need them.

    Permit approved!

Published by Court Harris on 17th Apr 2017

First time using this reel was on a 2-week trip to Central America. I fitted the Model 4 to my 10-wt Allen XA 10-wt rod, loaded with a Rio Saltwater WF/I line. First group of permit came through and I tagged a nice 15-lb fish. The drag settings were like silk to throttle through, and even after surviving getting snagged on some coral with a fish on the other end, I landed a great permit. Loved the drag - super fast to move through tensions during casting and the retrieval speed was excellent. I loaded mine with 300m of 50-lb Dacron and still had plenty of space on the spool for that fat WF/I line with the shooting head. LOVED it, glad I bought 2. Soaked in warm water to get the salt off, and its ready for the next trip. GREAT WORK FELLAS!

    The Perfect Reel

Published by Pierson on 13th Sep 2016

This is my third Allen reel and as a primarily saltwater fisherman I was surprised at how much more I liked the Atlas than both Kraken models. Don't get me wrong, the Kraken reels are great reels and perfect for certain applications but the dimensions, drag, and feel make the Atlas that perfect everything reel. The slightly thinner spool width and the larger diameter give it the size and feel of most top tier and much more expensive reels. The machining is just a little thicker than the kraken making it feel more solid and sturdy. The reel could have a bit more drag adjustment and the reel handle could be a tad bigger. Other than that I call it good and will be purchasing more of these in the future.

That Atlas is a winner for sure!!

I'm so happy with my new Atlas #3 reel! I paired it with an Allen Alluvion 9wt rod and it controlled even the most blistering drag peeling runs from fresh Silvers and Chums in Alaska! I had multiple fish run me right into the backing several times and the Atlas never missed a beat! So incredibly smooth!
