D101 - Standard Dry Fly Hook

I almost exclusively use Allen Hooks and beads. Best quality and best price out there.

I was able to use this hook while tying flies with confidence and no concern with metal strength failure. Its sharpness and edge looks to be able to old its point . Good value for the price.

This hook works perfectly for my woven wasp.

Due to its short shank I initially did not like the hook. A few weeks ago, however, I compared my D101 #12 shank length with those of TMC100 & Daiichi 1180 (both #14), and noticed they are identical!. Thus, I can now tie a #14 fly and benefit from the #12 wider gap of my D101s. And I don't mind the slightly heavier wire; my dries float.

Nice hooks wide gap and am impressed with quality and the no barb as always squeeze barbs down Always great service but still not liking the standard D101 shank length.

I have tied with various hooks that I have purchased from Allen Fly Fishing..I tie professionally, and they are by far the best hook for the money !! These guys are great to work with. I am very happy with their fly tying hooks.

Exactly what i expect.

Like all of Allen's products, these hooks stand with those twice as expensive from a quality perspective. I'm never spending $7-10 on 25 hooks again. Keep the great products coming at these unbeatable prices Allen!
