    1. Best buy of the year Rating

Posted by Rodrigo Guzmán on 17th Aug 2017

First, i was happy to see the nice blue finish of the rod under the sun, theres anything bad on the build and looking of this rod. After the firsts casts I got really impressive from the action of the rod, I was using a heavy fly and the casting was just flawless.
When the fight with two baby tarpons around 14 & 10 lbs, I realized that this rod is the best buy i've done this year. This is an excellent rod for an incredible price, I wish there was more weights so I could buy them all.

    2. Great rod, great price Rating

Some extra thoughts to add to my first 5-star review of this excellent rod: I originally bought one of these rods as a backup for a trip to Alaska; it casts so well that I ended up using it the whole trip as my go-to rod. Bought two more and used them for tarpon, bones and trevally. Casts great, has backbone for pulling fish out of the mangroves or for landing. Looks good with nice touches like alignment dots and the weight designation on every segment--items often not found on other rods costing five times as much. So far I have bought 5 of the 8wts and 3 of the 5wts since they make great presents for friends, and a super nice tip for a guide who goes the extra mile to put his client on to fish.

    3. Good rod Rating

This is a very good entry level rod. Especially the 8wt. It is definitely worth every penny and more! I've owned more expensive rods that are of equal quality! Good purchase!

    4. Very impressive Rating

The first thing that struck me was the very good build quality
      For a $79 rod around £60 uk
Very nice to cast and very nice feel to the rod
if this is how the $79 rod performs would love to fish the others

Very fast shipping to the uk from the ALLEN team

    5. Fine rod at a very reasonable price Rating

Posted by Steve Duckett on 11th Feb 2017

I bought one of these rods as a back-up two years ago, but have used it extensively in Alaska for salmon, and in the salt for stripers and baby tarpon. It casts better than I can, has held up impeccably, and costs a fraction of the price of the other rods I have. I'm so impressed that I bought two more, plus one to give to a friend. Decent-looking rod, too, with high-density cork rings at both ends of the handle for added protection, alignment dots, and something seldom seen even on $800 rods: the rod weight written on each of the four sections so if you take this rod apart while another rod is also in sections (say, for cleaning) you can easily tell which are the correct pieces to reassemble. A quality rod at a very reasonable, budget-friendly price.

    6. awesome rod! Rating

I just purchased this rod and love the way it casts. I'm big on finding good rods for reasonable money and this is the rod to buy. I'd by 10 of these before buying 1 $1000.00 rod that Id be afraid to break or scratch. Great steelhead rod. Can't go wrong with anything from Allen fishing
