Bahamacon 2018

Posted by A.J. on 18th Jul 2018

Every year, our friends from The Fly Fish Journal escape the monotony of the seemingly endless cold weather that characterize the end of winter by sneaking down to the Bahamas. We had the pleasure of joining them at Andros South Lodge for a week, with a case full of Allen rods and reels in tow. The bonefish were happy to welcome us to the island, and we were happy to feed them flies and bring them to hand quickly with the Kraken reel. We were lucky enough to capture the trip on film to share the enjoyment with you!

Check out the video here: BAHAMACON 2018

We got our hands on some massive bonefish, 'cuda on poppers, and even a shark on a six-weight. It was one heck of a time, and it has our mental gears turning for hosting an Allen bonefish week somewhere in the Bahamas. Stay tuned, and until then, get excited to join us next time by watching the video.

At the core of the Bahamacon trip are the talented editor (Steve Duda) and photo editor (Copi Vojta) of The Fly Fish Journal, and every year they are joined by regular contributors in addition to passionate readers. They create a mini-page sharing written words and images created on the trip, which we've linked here. Check it out!
