I have the last model of the kraken reel which I absolutely love. It has been a fantastic reel that has an outstanding drag and picks up line fast. I got the special edition navy color and was waiting for the spools to become available but they never did. When I realized they weren’t going to be, I decided that I would just order one in a different color. However, by the time I got around to it, Allen decided to revamp the Kraken for an even better drag system. Unfortunately I was not able to get a spool for mine anymore. I spoke with the guys at Allen and they said that the new model spools will fit the old krakens. I ordered one and it worked perfectly. I liked it so much I went ahead and ordered a new model in the larger size to target salt water and larger pike and Muskie. I am finding out that it is just as fantastic as the previous model and totally sold on these reels. The customer service is great and the guys at Allen are very helpful. Big fan.
