As a custom fly maker I want my flies to hold up and produce for my customers. I use this hook on many of my salt and freshwater patterns. Excellent hook.

    SW004 Hook by Allen

Quality looks really nice. Good point. I am not sure about the kirbed thing but seems guides are 50/50 so I'll give them a shot. Those fish that hit on the pause, I want to see about the hookset. Sizing is a bit wonky but the guys at Allen got me the right stuff. I just asked for an SC12 equiv in 1/0 and they hooked me up.

Looks like a good hook. As mentioned, the sizing is incorrect. I was assured via email that my second order would be correct, it wasn’t. I’m getting ready for a trip to Cuba so for now I will go with Gamakatsu for the sizes I wanted

    Sticky Icky

This is a great value hook for tying a variety of flies for saltwater species. It's become my primary hook for tying baitfish, shrimp and swimming crab patterns for bull reds, jacks and cobia. The hook comes super sharp and stays sharp. It's also held up extremely well on some big fish as well as the saltwater despite being what looks like a forged hook. I just dunk my flies in the cooler and let them air dry before putting them back in a box. This hook to me is similar to a gammie SL12s but perhaps a little less stout, but I'm yet to test one on a true hook breaking fish. One thing to note is the sizing on the package is off from what's listed here online. I ordered some Sz 1 hooks but the packages says they're 2/0. They sent a note in the package explaining the discrepancy and the dimensions in the picture on here are consistent with what I ordered so no harm, but I figured it might be worth mentioning in case you miss the note
