Great reel , looks way nicer in person , good drag on fish , the click when u reel in is a lil louder than kraken, love both

I've got several Allen Reels and they all seem flawless. The fit and finish are excellent and they balance the rods really well. The Alpha has a nice smooth and capable drag. I've got a Size 3 on a Size 8 Compass. It works for bass, and I'm going to try it for steelhead soon. I like it as much as my Trout II reels on my small stream rods.

At first glance you can see the paint quality and finish, feels light and sturdy (no wobble), and it has a decent and smooth drag... it sure is a bang for the buck. The only thing I could suggest is to add a bit of sound to the clicker...but it's a matter of one´s taste.

Excellent price performance fly reel. Using them on Redfish and sea trout now, and this summer on Nantucket Sound for bluefish and striped bass. Have two reels set up with 9 wt and 10 wt lines with over 200 yds of 4# braid backing.

Purchased on the BOGO sale, upon arrival, both reels look great. Closer inspection, one of the two has reel seat screws that are necessarily straight on into the main frame of the reel. Does it effect use, no not all all. Just wish they were both of the same craftsmanship. So far so good with my first purchase from Allen.

Ordered two Alpha Series reels, at significant international shipping cost & import duty. Issues with USPS/Canada Post not delivering. When brought to Allen’s attention they offered no help and put in no effort to ensure the purchased items were delivered. Extremely disappointed with this terrible customer service. Won’t be using Allen again, and will be advising folks to steer clear. Cheers!

I purchased one for my son and another for my best friend. Had expected a quality reel but it really exceeded my expectations. Super tight tolerances, smooth, well proportioned, balanced for a great feel in hand and on rod. Most importantly, both my son and friend love fishing the reels. Great reel at any price.

Alpha 2 and 3 models were purchased during the BOGO introduction sale. I am impressed with the fit and finish and how smooth the line pulls off the spool. The reels are quiet smart looking. We do like the aesthetics of our gear. They have been fished, but unfortunately, have not experienced a fish testing the drag system. I like the reels and have no complaints with my purchase. I would like to think they were made in the USA, but probably not. Hopefully made in Korea or Japan rather than, well, you know.
