D101BL - Standard Dry Fly, Barbless Hook

The integrity of this dry fly hook is poor at best. The wire is much too thin to hold onto a fish when hooked. I find far too often the hook straightens out when stressed by a hooked fish - total failure.

Exactly what I wanted in a dry fly hook for features, sharp, wide gap, strong. It is on the short side, in fact I would say a half size shorter than advertised. So, a size 14 is really like a size 15....which I like anyways because I have several specific ties that need a 15, 17 or 19.

This hook is exactly what I was looking for. It has a wide gap and sharp point. It is a bit shorter than what the size states, so a 16 is like a 17, an in-between size that I have also been looking for.

The hooks are great. Availability of other sizes is lacking. Need more barbless in longer 1x- 3x sizes.

My go to source for sharp barbless hooks. Strong and reliable. Never had an issue with them and don't expect to.

I own a commercial fly tying business and have been using Allen Fly Fishing hooks for years and have nothing but praise for them as far as quality and sharpness. I like them because the have so many styles that are barbless..

As a guide and commercial tier, the wide gape and being barbless are what I've been looking for in a dry fly hook.

Formed well and uniform. Very sharp with well closed eyes.
