D102BL - Dry Fly, Wide Gape, Barbless Hook

Nice quality hook at a fair price. As good as most that are much more expensive. Never had a problem with any flies tied on an Allen hook.

I was looking for a barbless competition hook with a longer hook point or up-turned point similar to some of the Hanak hooks. I ordered these on a recommendation from A.J, and at first glance I like the look of the hooks. My only consideration is that I wish they were a little heavier wire. Understandably, they are a dry fly hook, and not a wet fly hook. Regardless I think they will fish well, and will have added sticking power with the slightly upturned hook point. I really like these hooks - excellent in every way. One feature that would make them better would be some more size options (specifically, sizes 18 and 20 would be nice, and perhaps an 8). reply - Justin (Allen) Thanks for the feedback. This hook is becoming my go to hook for my general dry flies.

Great wide gap sharp hooks. Used them to tie Elk Hair Peacock Caddis for a recent swap. Turned out really nice.

A great product. I fish soft hackles exclusively and have used a lot of different brands and styles. I came across these hooks recently and must say these are by far my favorite. Great quality and price. Hooks are strong and haven't found one bad one yet. Highly recommended and also great service from Allen.
